I agree with your view of Johnny Mercer's lyrics.

cl; Wrightsman, p; Lamare, g; Stephens, sb; Zutty. d.
Mr Mercer introduces the word "boy" into the lyrics and stuffs up his delivery -
on BOTH takes!
Which only proves that not everyone is "close to perfect".
