I must be getting old - I've never been called a diplomat before! I'm quite
touched.

I'm glad we agree about the "relaxed" nature of the 1917 Columbias. I also
agree, Steve, that the ODJB was rarely relaxed on record.

If DJMLers are wondering why Bill and I are being so dogged on this matter,
it's partly because we are engrossed in the music of New Orleans in the
1920s at the moment. We are alternating in the presentation of a 6 part (6
x 1 hour) radio series on the jazz and blues actually recorded in NO in the
1920s. For Sydneysiders, the station is 2MBS-FM (102.5 MHz).
